ABOUT

Independent Naruto roleplay account on Twitter.Firstly, although he is property of Masashi Kishimoto the headcanons are mine and mine alone, born from my own creativity and pure love of the character. You're welcome to adopt but please do not steal them.
If you use them, credit me.
Because of his longevity and complex character, Danzō is split into two accounts. The elder account is @Shimurazo. The younger is @Danzanagi. The headcanons here apply to both portrayals where appropriate.Like any roleplayer, I have my own takes on him and headcanons for him. I play the character in my vision of him.All RPs are welcome, be it OCs or CCs. I do multiverse and AU storylines too. I also do multiple threads with the same partner.I have no issues with fighting roleplay. If you want to punch him then you can go ahead and just do it, or private message me for a plot.I love detail, as most of you familiar with me know. Though, saying that, I don’t expect an abundance of it in return from my partners. There is no need, at all, to pop out a tonne just because I do, really. Just be aware that you getting a ten tweet starter (and then some) or reply is totally possible with me, which is why I'll tend to ask first.Respectfully I add that I am not interested in seeing a tonne of OoC comments or writer brackets. It clutters the timeline and I do not like the mute function so if in the event you are unfollowed, please do not take it personally it is simply my preference. I am here to roleplay. Do not ask me to follow. Follows will be earned.NSFW friendly. Follow at own discretion.Given the nature of his verse, his content is mature. Though Danzō may not be directly experiencing certain subjects, his account may cover subjects of extreme blood/gore, violence, explicit sexual themes, sexual violence, language, alcohol/drug use, mental illnesses including PTSD, surgery, the use of firearms, genocide/infanticide, paranormal/supernatural and anything else that falls under triggering.I do not necessarily condone the actions of my character. This is fiction, not reality. Don't mix the two.Hyper-selective shipping.Shipped with @SlashedBonds/@FaithBlinded and @ladycfdeath.They do not crossover, existing in different timelines from one another. All that being said if you don’t like or agree with my portrayal, then simply don’t follow. You'll be blocked unapologetically if you're found to be causing trouble for me outside roleplay.
More will be added to this as and when I think of stuff, so check back every now and then.

Throughout all phases of his life, Danzō can be easily classified as extremely intelligent, socially inept and rigidly logical.Danzō carries many characteristics associated with the autism spectrum, particularly what is known to us as Asperger's Syndrome.Danzō has a sharp sense of wit and is armed with sometimes not-so-subtle sarcasm, something which he still possesses as an elder but doesn't utilise as much as he used to.Danzō has a superiority complex which shows though in certain, given situations.Danzō also holds some childlike qualities such as extreme stubbornness and the habit of pouting and sulking on occasion. In childhood, Danzō was eager to please his peers, craving the praise. In his older years, Danzō gets the same sort of satisfaction from people who look to him and hold him in high esteem.Danzō has always had a great lack of empathy. In youth, he felt uncomfortable around people who were distressed or upset, not being sure how to comfort them or how to deal with them, period.Danzō dislikes physical contact on a whole, having being known to tense when touched, and would rarely offer even a mote of affection.Danzō has a talent for music, having been known to play the shakuhachi in his younger years, taught by his father. Though he no longer plays in his elder years, he still keeps the old flute on his bookshelf, gathering dust.Danzō has an intense passion for fine-art, tea and classical/epic novels.Danzō dislikes gifts and the “social contract” that’s brought about by them.Danzō was brought up to be well-spoken and urbane, and therefore carries a distinctive drawl that his friends thoroughly enjoyed mimicking as children, just to annoy him.⧜ Danzō is greatly well-mannered. This doesn’t mean he’s friendly, however.Danzō is capable of displaying emotions and does so, on a sporadic basis. Unlike the shinobi of Root, who from a young age have had severe training to never feel emotions from the start, Danzō was simply forced to repress them as Root’s creation wasn’t until he was twenty-two, giving him plenty of time to live out a life like a normal man. He maintains an unfathomable appearance most of the time however, sometimes showing a mere hint of a frown, a flash of anger and/or disapproval or a small flicker of a smile. Around people he considers himself (once-)friends of, he shows larger displays of emotion.Danzō is incredibly traditional and very much set in those ways, carrying them forward into his later years and beyond.Being brought up in an upper-class, illustrious clan by nature Danzō looks down on those who break the rules of tradition, who’re vulgar or crass. (Bastard children, divorcees, dishonour, abandoning duties as a ninja, traitors against one’s village, etc.)Danzō is, for the majority, sexist. This is due to the era he was raised in. Women are the object of one’s desire that one weds, who bares children and is a figure of quiet, refined beauty and wifely obedience, whose only concerns should be her family and her household. A few are an exception of course, like Lady Mito Uzumaki, of whom he had a great fondness of as a child, though he tends to underestimate women regardless of their heritage.Danzō has a great distaste toward anyone who is not from the Leaf Village, therefore rendering him racist. This stems from the era in which he was raised, being generally distrusting and sceptical, and the fact that after being in three wars he has always perceived other nations as enemies.Danzō has a particular hate toward Kumogakure because of the death of his sensei, Tobimara Senju, and the execution of his father.Danzō is an only child.Danzō is named after his grandfather, a decision of his father’s following Grandfather Shimura’s execution on the field of battle in the early Warring States period.Danzō has been the head of the Shimura since the age of six, following his father’s death.Danzō is not the only Shimura. In his youth, he had cousins, aunts, uncles and his grandmother from his father’s side lived until he was twenty, dying of pneumonia.Because of the tragedy that befell his mother and father, family is a subject that Danzō does not like to discuss. He will usually avoid asking anyone, even out of conversation sake, how one's family is doing to avoid being asked the same.Danzō does not drink alcohol after the age of twenty-nine, due to the alcohol-induced death of his mother.Danzō's trademark, X-shaped scar on his chin was gained at the age of eleven when his hotheadedness resulted in him being captured by Taki-nin along the borders of Sunagakure whilst on a mission with his squadron. He was interrogated, brutally beaten and gangraped. In the process, he was given a criss-cross slash to the chin that went deep. Danzō was rescued by Tobirama Senju and his captors were killed. Although women tend to find his scar a ruggedly handsome feature and his friends joke about it with loving jest, Shimura himself hates it. It stood as a constant reminder of when he almost met his end. It also served as a turning point in his childhood, that the world is an unforgiving one for a shinobi and that he was still weak. The incident pushed his desire to train much harder and to learn to harness his temper better.Danzō perceives himself as handsome, especially in his youth, and is narcissistic about it in a more subtle way than most. As a teenager, he was very aware that he was attractive, talented and popular. As always, he never paid any interest, choosing to enjoy the laudation privately.Danzō, even into his elder years, is the epitome of a workaholic, dedicated to his cause, borderlining on obsession. In his youth, he was far more interested in his duties, honing and perfecting his skills and work always came before anything else. Finding a bride at a time when his companions were themselves getting married was the least of his concerns. He never really looked for a wife and spared no particular interest in seeking one out, not even attending the village match-making ceremonies.Given the tragedies in his past concerning his mother and father’s deaths, a young Danzō found the notion of starting a family of his own daunting, worried that they would inevitably perish like everyone else in the immediate Shimura clan had. A family also posed as a target for an adversary.Danzō harbours a great fear of disloyalty. This stems heavily from Hiruzen and Tobirama, as both played a part in taking the long-sought title of Hokage from him. Therefore, he’s never freely allowed anyone to become too close to him since his friendship with Kagami and Sarutobi. The threat of betrayal and abandonment avoided this way.Danzō doesn’t tolerate imperfections of any notion especially in his subordinates and never in himself, making him a purist.Danzō is almost asexual in nature, his natural disposition and rigorous discipline to thank for such behaviour. He does not show romantic interest, in either male or female, in the way others do. Trained to overcome common desires of function, he learned to push fatigue, hunger and want to the back of his mind and leave them there. Food and rest become breaking point where he is forced to give in because he's human and those are necessary, but not with carnalities. In his younger years, Danzō was one of the core members of the Konohagakure Torture and Interrogation Force, stationed there between missions as a tokubetsu, specialising in body language and microexpressions. He was incredibly effective, due to his domineering and imposing nature with little effort, a similarity many saw in Ibiki Morino when he joined many years later.Danzō learned his fūton techniques from his mother, who was coincidentally a wind shinobi. As a teenager, he always struggled with the vacuum sphere, namely with increasing it's size.Danzō's two worst fields are sensory and medical.Danzō's scent is that of amber and sandalwood, stemming from aftershave and incense.Danzō has moved home three times. From birth to the age of eighteen, he lived in the Shimura Clan estate, a collection of traditional kusakabe villas. From eighteen until forty-nine, he lived in a modest danchi in the centre of the village, which he sold. Since then, Danzō has lived in an old sukiya-zukuri on the northern edge of Konahagakure, along a dirt path, on the edge of the forest of death.Danzō was the godfather of both Shisui Uchiha and Asuma Sarutobi.Danzō's original right eye was taken out toward the end of the Second Shinobi War. It was wrenched from it's socket by Hanzō the Salamander when the two fought. He wore a leather eyepatch over the hollow socket until the transplant of his first sharingan.Danzō's original sharingan in his right eye was Kagami Uchiha's. Whilst on a mission to Kirigakure with Kagami and Torifu, at the age of forty-eight, during an assignment Danzō fought tooth and nail with Hiruzen over to be postponed, they were ambushed the moment they overstepped the border. Although they succeeded in killing their attackers, Kagami was targeted upon the realisation he was an Uchiha and was fatally wounded. They took refuge in the trees as Kiri-nin hunted for them. Kagami died in Danzō’s arms, giving his eyes to him, expressing that he wanted Shimura to go forth and bring to light the promise of making Konohagakure a better place. It was the earliest case of transplanting optical abilities and Danzō considered the incident one of the most significant and traumatising moments in his life and because of the circumstances, has always blamed Hiruzen for the death of Kagami. The eleven sharingan that reside in Danzō's right arm contain the eyes of Fugaku, Mikoto, Kagen, Inabi, Yashiro and one of Tekka's, as the other was severely damaged during Madara and Itachi's massacre and was unsalvageable. The sharingan on Danzō's right arm blink asynchronously as well as move individually. They are, however, sightless on their own. Danzō cannot see through them as they are not connected via nerves and such. After grafting Hashirama's DNA, Danzō's right arm is made of wood.

RELATIONSHIPS
関係

Relationships that affect Danzō's portrayal. These include "NPC" characters, small background OCs, and roleplayers who have left their mark by form of headcanons.

Rei
@SlashedBonds/@FaithBlinded. Danzō's estranged wife of fifty years. The two met when he was eighteen and Rei was seventeen, in Rāmen Ichiraku. They were later matched together to act as a couple for a reconnaissance mission arranged by the Nidaime Hokage, apparently "coincidental" but Shimura believes otherwise.
Over the following year, despite Danzō's unworldly person and a turbulent (if not comical) relationship, the two became close. Danzō married her, on the fourteenth of December, after he returned from the First Ninja War, at the age of twenty-two, shortly before the creation of Root.In the twenty-four years of peace that followed, they lived a happy marriage though were unsuccessful at trying for children. Their peace, however, ended when he left Konohagakure to serve in the Second Ninja War, as General, stationed in Amegakure. He returned, after two, gruelling years, to find Rei missing and in turn the child he had been anxiously expecting to meet from the letters she had written was gone. With no one willing or able to tell him why and after learning that it had something to do with the Hyūga, Danzō took matters into his own hands, torturing and blackmailing the lower members of the family in secret to gain intel. He learned the truth: his wife had been exiled by the Hyūga on a near-impossible mission after her mistress had perished at the hands if an assassin. Determined to bring her home, he set out to find her, but after five months of endless hunting he realised the impracticality of the task he had set himself, looking for one woman on the face of the planet.A year passed, eighteen months, two years. Believing Rei was dead changed Danzō entirely. He had lost with her his reason and sense of self. He became wholly introverted, his personality glacial and hardened. But she returned, another year later, and the two attempted a bittersweet reconciliation. With Rei's traumas inciting PTSD to an enormous scale and Danzō's obsession with the Uchiha and his own self-centred goals and walls, coupled with the amount of secrets he had built and continued to build between them, their relationship began to deteriorate. After the truth about the Uchiha massacre came to light at the Samurai Bridge, Rei left him, returning to her former residence as a Hyūga to take her position as the clan's elder. They are still married and still see one another for official business purposes predominantly. Her departure from the Shimura clan and their subsequent separation is seen as an act of deep betrayal, evoking Danzō's mighty fear of disloyalty. Despite how they may still feel about each other, he holds a chariness about her.Morrigan
@ladycfdeath. A kunoichi from Kirigakure who Danzō met at the age of nineteen when she visited Konohagakure to assist Tobirama Senju with an interrogation. As the curious Shimura came to learn, she is a master in the forbidden arts, wielding kinjutsu capable of reviving the dead and is thusly timeless.
Revolted that such practises were allowed albeit in secret, Danzō did not originally see eye-to-eye with her during her visit. He did not see her again until after the First Shinobi War, sixteen years later, at the age of thirty-five, when he was sent on a mission with her to Yukigakure (much to his utter dismay), having to act as her husband. The two grew to form a "friends by circumstance" relationship, and their success in Yukigakure opened the door for Hiruzen to consider them for other missions. However, such opportunities were put on hold with the Second Shinobi War, wherein they met again by chance, and again in the Third Shinobi War.Asuka
@AlatePorcelain. The daughter of Kurenai Yūhi and Asuma Sarutobi and a shinobi of Root. Danzō met Asuka when she was nine, after being introduced to her by her mother. The child's lack of fear in his presence, only harbouring a trace of curiosity and nothing else, captured his interest. It became apparent that this child possessed natural empathy, a trait in Root that only rigorous discipline could accomplish, and beseeched him to take her as his underling. Seeing value in owning not only the famed Genjutsu Mistress' child, but also the grandchild of Hiruzen Sarutobi, Asuka was recruited, much to Kurenai’s pride, with Danzō overseeing her training personally. Over seven years, Asuka became one of Root’s most valuable agents. She revered Danzō as if royalty.
As a kunoichi with hypopituitarism, a condition that stunted her physical growth and caused proportional dwarfism, she became his choice for infiltration missions due to her childlike appearance. Like her mother, Asuka’s strength blossomed in the art of genjutsu, choosing to materialise her concoctions in the form of ethereal butterflies and earning her the moniker Kurochō, “The Black Butterfly”.Because of her skill in illusions, she is used as a tool of torture and interrogation by the shadowed organisation. However her exposure to a normal life with her mother betrays her discomfort with handling such tasks, and leads Danzō to privately question what turmoil she may be harbouring despite her unadulterated loyalty to him. Asuka has an almost geisha/danna relationship with Danzō, performing everything from pouring tea for him to discussing stratagems.Erika
Danzō's mother, the wife and first-cousin of his father, Koji, and a talented wind kunoichi. Erika settled down to a life as a housewife after falling pregnant.
After Danzō's father, Koji, was executed whilst on a mission at the hands of Kumo hunter ninja, he left his son with his widowed wife. Though Erika had been cheerful and full of life, his father had ultimately proved to have been the glue that had held the clan together. Without his strong and logical presence, Erika and her son's relationship down-spiralled.As Danzō grew up into a handsome young man, he and his mother became estranged. She never recovered from the death of his father, falling into a major depression, rarely leaving her room, eerily standing around or wandering about the village blank-faced when she did. She turned to drink, preferring to lose herself in the bottom of a bottle on a religious basis than deal with reality. Danzō would find her, collapsed on the stairs, comatose and covered in her own filth. When he moved from the family home at eighteen, he severed most tie with her, not visiting unless forced to do so when completely necessary. She died when Danzō was twenty-nine, a wasted husk of a woman he once loved as a child. She is the reason he, himself, does not drink nor feels comfortable around drunkards.Koji
Danzō's father. The husband and first-cousin of Erika. A strong, quiet man with a passionate and militant persona. He was assassinated whilst on a mission after being taken as a prisoner of war, when Danzō was six, by Kumo hunter-nin.
It was the catalyst that set Danzō down a road of determination and retribution, and sparked his hatred for The Land of Lightning.Koji is a memory mostly long forgotten in Danzō's old age, though his portrait in the alter still remains, faded but intact, the only physical embodiment of his father he has. Danzō still visits the memorial stone in Konohagakure every father's day, to give an offering of cabbage roses.Chō
Danzō's aunt, his mother's sister, Koji's first-cousin and sister-in-law, and the mother of Kenta, Danzō's cousin.
After the death of Koji, Chō became Erika's carer, and thus Danzō's inadvertent surrogate mother, making sure he was looked after, fed, washed and otherwise sound.Their relationship became strained when Shimura moved out of the family home and stopped visiting Erika, leaving Chō to chase him up. She died when he was forty-seven and was very keen on his wife, Rei.Kenta
Danzō's cousin by his mother's sister, Chō, and a year younger than he. Kenta was fatally wounded when he was eleven, during his chūnin exam.
Danzō Shimura, Sr.
Danzō's grandfather, the father of Koji, the uncle of Erika and Chō.
After Grandfather Shimura’s execution on the field of battle during the early Warring States period, Koji named his son Danzō in honour of him.Danzō had never got to meet him.
